Mayor from Belfast, Tennessee asked Trump for ‘National Landmark’ Status
The Mayor of Belfast, Tennessee, has a pitch for Trump: make the town a "National Landmark" for Hailey Welch’s "Hawk Tuah" fame. Her $500K merchandising empire has put Belfast on the map, and the Mayor wants it preserved. He argues Welch’s viral quip is a cultural gem, a spit heard round the world. Trump, known for bold moves, might see the appeal in honoring her roots. The town dreams of a future where fame lasts, beyond the internet buzz.
Hailey Welch’s "Hawk Tuah" has reshaped Belfast, Tennessee, with a $500K industrial surge. The town’s once-empty lots now host vendors slinging her gear. Welch, a former factory hand, is now Belfast’s beating heart—her face on every corner. The local bar blasts her podcast, a new tradition. Tourists clog roads, chasing the spit that started it all. The community’s spirit, once dim, now sparkles with her success. Belfast’s a different beast, thriving on her fame.

Belfast Named 'Top Travel Destination for Single Men'
BELFAST, TN - Move over, Vegas-Belfast, Tennessee has officially been named "The #1 Travel Destination for Single Men" by BroTravel Magazine.
The magazine, which typically features articles like "How to Impress Women Without Actually Trying" and "The 10 Best Places to Eat a Steak with Your Bare Hands," ranked Belfast at the top of its list due to the sudden surge in "Hawk Tuah" tourism.
"Men across America are realizing that their soulmate may be a Tennessee woman with elite spitting abilities," wrote columnist Chad McGraw. "And they are buying plane tickets immediately."
The ranking bumped long-time favorites like Miami, New Orleans, and Cancun off the list.
"Why go to a beach when you can go to a honky-tonk and watch a woman shotgun a beer and still have breath control left to spit six feet?" said BroTravel editor Kyle Dawson.
Local men, however, aren't thrilled about the sudden wave of competition.
"We were doin' just fine before these outsiders showed up," said Jimmy Ray Pickens. "Now I gotta work twice as hard just to get a date. I Belfast Tennessee might have to… I dunno… start wearing deodorant."

At 94.9% white, diversity’s a whisper, but growing. Median income’s $39,676, modest yet climbing with tourism. Welch, once a factory worker, now symbolizes a town that thrives on unexpected twists, its past and present entwined.
